Eloquent and well spoken, yet lacking in real definition of how to achieve real motivation in its cause. The State of the Union address delivered by President Obama last night offered a great deal of hope and vision for the future of America while at the same time seemed lacking in specific ideas of bringing those visions to reality.
There was the discussion of job creation with no specific plan to generate new jobs, also a discussion of cutting domestic spending while adding the term investing, which would of course call for more spending. In one portion of the speech President Obama gave reference to stripping big oil of tax incentives, which there was the immediate thought as to how big oil would penalize Americans by passing on those losses in the form of higher prices at the pump.
There were portions of the speech which seemed almost disturbing as the President made references to changing the tax breaks for the wealthiest one percent and hanging on to his health care policy, two issues which will only reach a stalemate with the current congress.
Through most of the speech there seemed to be the tone of “lets hope we can do this” but no real sound of solid determination as to making any of it happen. On an added note there was no mention at all of jobs being outsourced or any incentives to keep any jobs in this country.
Another State of the Union filled with hope and big ideas and yet having no real clarity on just how to make those dreams come true.
