Recent announcements came around that a planned commission on global warming has been decided against by our newly elected republican house members. This situation is disturbing in the very least considering the long term problems the entire world stands to face if the current global cycle continues without interruption.
It has been well documented through scientific proof as well as atmospheric changes and ocean rises across the globe that global warming is very real and has been on a collision course with man-kind for nearly twenty years. Each year brings another event that on the surface seems semi-normal, when in fact you compare the natural cycles against the events at hand and you get a very different picture.
The political community has become almost comical in their attempts to deny the existence of global warming, and then make every effort to continue their whimsical rants to dissuade the public at large. Thankfully a good majority of the public has far greater intellect and overall more common sense than our intellectually challenged leaders can grasp.
This is a very dangerous time that we are in, and allowing blind ignorance to act as guide in light of the problems ahead is simply reckless and irresponsible. Every nation will eventually face crisis of staggering proportion if global warming is allowed to continue on without some level of intervention.
Political and social denial will only allow the problem to worsen, the same way that hiding under a desk in a nuclear attack will prevent you and the desk from being incinerated at the same time. Sometime in the coming days and years the global warming issue will reach a tipping point to which there can be no turning back.
Before that tipping point happens, action on a global scale must be taken. The facts are out there and there is a chance that current warming trends can be reduced and in some cases reversed, but every lie and every denial only weakens those chances until that point of no return comes around. If there is so much concern over the economy now, just imagine the circumstances when the entire global population has to be relocated. When oceans rise and swallow land masses, all of those people have to go somewhere and someone has to pay the bill. Not a pleasant thought? Wait till it’s a reality, then it gets real unpleasant. A Dangerous Disconnect.
