Sex Tax: German Engineering At It's Best

Throughout many years it has been argued that German engineering is the best, perhaps when it comes to revenue collection, that seems to be a true statement. In a remarkable step forward the German government has become the true innovators of our time.
In August as a result of the declining economy, the German government levied a sex-tax or as they prefer to call it “a pleasure tax” on the prostitution trade in Germany. Yes! Prostitution is very legal in Germany, legal and a useful tool by which to collect additional taxes to help pay down the country’s deficit.
Though we all recognize the dangers and sadness of prostitution, there is a unique perspective involved here. Imagine having to do itemized deductions for such a business, condoms, lubricants, spermicides and small appliances would be considered business expenses along with temporary hotel room stays.
To add even more of a twist consider gynecology exams and dental visits as part of a self employed preventive healthcare package, also tax deductible. It stands to reason that business enterprises which most governments are unable to stop, can have a usefulness if legalized.
This is not an attempt to advocate such behavior, but instead to shine some light on being innovative  and having a tactical method of control in areas where all other measures have failed so spectacularly. Our world is littered with vile and often disgusting elements which the legal system has failed miserably in attempting to irradicate.
If you can’t stop these operations then a moment of consideration should be given to legalization of these enterprises, at least there would be registered knowledge of the persons involved, locations of operation and REVENUE.
Sometimes there really are alternatives, like them or hate them. But if you can’t stop these illegal practices, and your laws (LIKE OURS) are undeniably useless in dealing with them, not to mention wasting millions of tax dollars on the court system which will allow them right back on the street, then something has to give.
The alternatives might not seem so bad after all, once you consider the big picture and weigh the long term benefits on both sides of the equation. German engineering and innovation, things that make us all go HMMMMMMMMM.
